Welcome to "Wild" Bill Devine Racing!
Home of the world’s quickest and fastest 5-liter
Ford - PERIOD!
Pi•o•neer; noun: One who ventures into unknown or unclaimed
territory. One who opens up new areas of thought,
research, or development
The definition above aptly describes “Wild” Bill
Devine. If you’re a fan of Ford Mustang Drag Racing,
no doubt you’ve heard Bill’s name before, and read
about his exploits. A pioneer in the Pro 5.0 class,
Bill’s been racing Mustangs for a long time. First
with his 89GT, which transformed from a street car
into a full-blown tube chassis, turbocharged
monster, to his current 2001 purpose-built Pro level
chassis, Bill has always been at the forefront of
Mustang racing and technology.
A friendship with the late “Racin” Jason Betwarda
blossomed when Bill worked at Dayton Ford in New
Jersey. Jason turned Bill on to the benefits of
turbo charging, and from that day on, the Wild Man
never looked back. Bill is the only Pro 5.0 racer to
still employ the true 302 block, and has powered his
way all the way down into the six-second zone at
over 200 miles an hour! Where others have moved up
to use a larger Windsor-based engine, Bill has used
his skill and knowledge to go just as fast using 50
less cubic inches.
Located in Florida, and backed by his employer, Pro
Power Performance Parts, Racecraft Inc, Spaghetti
Menders Wiring Specialists, Sniper Tuning, and Pro
Turbo Kits, Wild Bill runs the Pro 5.0 class with
the NMRA. The ultimate sportsman, Bill is always
willing to help other racers who need a hand, and is
always willing to lend advice. Supported by his
brother, Steve Flanagan, crew member Tom Petrovich
and his rock, wife Cheryl, Bill has big plans for
competition in 2005 and beyond.

Have you ever had the opportunity to
meet your idol? A football quarterback,
baseball pitcher, or basketball star? And how did it
go? Were they friendly, or did they just sign
an autograph and go on about their business? Well,
that's exactly the opposite of Wild Bill Devine.
Wild Bill loves to meet his fans, and he knows that
he's got lots of them. Being the pioneer of Pro 5.0
isn't enough for Bill. He wants to be able to meet
all of his fans, big and small, because he knows
that the fans are the people who make it possible
for him to even have a place to race. If you ever
happen to be at an NMRA race, or anywhere else Wild
Bill has chosen to play, feel free to stop by and
say hello! You just might be surprised at what
you find!
